ELLENBURG DEPOT – Arthur "Curley" Gilman, 81, of Green Valley Road, passed away, Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Chateaugay on August 14, 1938, son of Clifford and Viola (Mitchell) Gilman.  Curley served his country as a Marine for over 4 years.  He worked numerous types of jobs over his lifetime, but most recently retired from CVPH in the Engineering Department following many years of service.

He was a collector of watches, knives, and coins. Curley enjoyed being outdoors driving his tractor and lawnmower and spending time do all kinds of woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, the former Sharon Finley whom he married April 4, 1993;  children, Kevin Gilman and companion Paula Mulverhill, Angela Gilman, Charmaine and Ashley Gladfelter, and Yvonne and Brian LaMore;  step-children, Shelley and Scott Bombard, Jeffrey and Cherie Moore, and Shannon Moore;  and one brother, Archibald Gilman.  Curley also leaves behind twenty-three grandchildren, including his "special little girl" Sierra Reynolds;  numerous great-grandchildren;  and his loving canine companion, Sasha.

He was predeceased by two sisters;  three brothers;  and his four-legged buddies, Ginger and Cheetie.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11th  from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg.  A funeral service will follow at 1:00 in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will take place in the spring in Sheldon Hill Cemetery, Ellenburg Depot.
