ELLENBURG CENTER– Carol E. LaClair, 92, formerly of Star Road, passed away, April 24, 2020.

She was born in Ellenburg on March 23, 1928, daughter of Ernest and Helena (Dumont) Carter.

Carol married David LaClair on April 22, 1946. David passed away on July 25, 1980. She was a communicant of St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

She worked as a cafeteria worker for many years and retired from Northern Adirondack Central School.

Carol loved her family and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She loved to visit the casino, go traveling, and visiting her family on the farm.  Carol also enjoyed going to the local VFW where she could visit with old friends and make new ones.  Her loving nature and infectious smile will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Janet LaClair of Ellenburg and;  grandchildren, David LaClair of Plattsburgh, Matthew (Erin) LaClair of Ellenburg, and Melissa (Darcy Rabideau) LaClair of Mooers Forks;  five great-grandchildren, Keller LaClair, Scotlyn LaClair, Emmett LaClair, Eli Rabideau-LaClair and Ellie Rabideau-LaClair;  sister-in-law, Coleen Carter of Malone;  and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was predeceased by her husband; son, Francis "Frank" LaClair;  and siblings, Lawrence (Shirley) Carter, Marjorie (Joe) Mashtare, John Carter and Beatrice Carter.

Services will be held privately.

Burial will take place in St. Edmund's Cemetery in Ellenburg.
