Obituary

MOOERS FORKS – It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Carol Rabideau Payne, Age 60, on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. She went home to be with the Lord and enter into eternal life.

She was born in Plattsburgh on December 29, 1961, the daughter of Raymond and Clara (LaValley) Rabideau. Carol was born and raised on a dairy farm where she developed her strong work ethics.

Her faith in Jesus was strong and persistent, giving her great joy and enabling her to share His love and mercy with others so they too, could trust in Jesus. While she is no longer here on earth, we rejoice in knowing that she in now in Heaven and in the loving presence of Father God and Jesus and those who have gone on before.

Carol graduated from Northeastern Clinton Central School in 1980 and from Our Lady of Victory School in 1981. She held several jobs over the years.  The one job Carol found the most rewarding was being a school bus driver for Northern Adirondack Central School.  She often mentioned how she had the longest and hardest run but she had the best kids who she adored.

She is survived by her husband, Richard T. Payne Jr. whom she married on July 26, 2003 in Ellenburg;  her mother, Clara Rabideau;  two step-sons Richard Payne III from Burke and Chris Payne from Malone; and three grandchildren; Skylar, Bailey and Katie Payne.

Steve and Sharon Rabideau reside in Rutland, VT and have one son; Nathanial and Mercedes Rabideau.  Judy and Brian Baker reside in Champlain, NY and have two daughters; Dana and Chris Boeshore and Jenna Garrand and fiancé Chris Fish. Twin-sister, Caroline Rabideau, and companion Brent Desranleau reside in Mooers Forks, NY and she has two daughters; Kristen and Ellsworth Grue and Chelsea and Spencer Fergusson.

Carol had several nieces and nephews: Cullen and Bennett Boeshore; Layla, Evelyn, Harrison and George Rabideau; Amelia, Henry, and Isabelle Grue

Payne Family: Kathleen Payne, Kenny (Leslie) Payne, Tom (Jen) Payne, Keith (Karen) Payne, Tim "Bucky" (Patty) Payne and their children; Adam Payne, Christina Perez,  Jamie Payne, Lacey Payne, Christopher Payne, Chad Payne, Kenny Payne Jr., Amber Payne, Stephanie Payne, Dylan Payne, Amanda Payne and Tim Payne Jr.

Carol enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed working outdoors, cutting wood with her own chainsaw, and assisting her husband with their auto mechanic business.

Carol leaves behind her two lovable fur babies; Peanut and Sammy.

Carol was predeceased by her beloved Dad, Raymond C. Rabideau, brother Alan R. Rabideau; her beloved poodle, Babe; Brother-in-law, Bob Payne.

Rich would like to thank his mother-in-law, sister-in-law's, aunt, cousin, and hospice in helping with Carol's care and for those relatives and special friends who took time out of their day to visit with Carol.

A sincere thank you to the staff at Hospice of the North Country for their compassion and care provided to Carol and our family.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home, 5614 Route 11, Ellenburg.  A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country.

Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the Rabideau Funeral Home, 5614 Route 11, Ellenburg.
