MOOERS, NY – Clayton "Jim" Forkey, 81, of LaValley Road, passed away August 26, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Mooers Forks on August 7, 1939, son of Arthur and Isabelle (Favreau) Forkey.

Jim served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965.

He married the former Jane Rabideau on October 11, 1969 at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks.

Jim worked at the GSA building in Champlain for many years doing maintenance on the federal building and he retired in 1997. He also spent many years as a barber.

He enjoyed many different hobbies including number painting, ceramics, and especially playing golf.  Jim also loved to go traveling with his loving wife Jane and testing his luck at the casino.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Mooers Fire Department, the North Country Golf Club, and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jane Forkey; his son, Jay (Becky) Forkey; brother-in-law, Reginald Bulriss; grandchildren, Morgan Ann Forkey and Mathieu Clayton (Steffaney Jabaut) Forkey;  and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was predeceased by his parents;  brother, Lloyd Forkey, Sr.;  sister, Janice Bulriss;  and sister-in-law, Julie Forkey.

Family will greet guests on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Champlain-Mooers EMS or masses said in his memory.
