ELLENBURG CENTER, NY---Clement I. Tavenier, 69, of Brandy Brook Road, Ellenburg Center passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was born in Bennington, VT on November 11, 1943, the son of Clement and Margaret (Connors) Tavenier.
Clement married the former Priscilla Hall in South Granville, NY on September 4, 1971.
Clement was a dairy farmer for most of his life. He worked for a period of time at the GM Plant in Springfield, MA for several years and then returned to New York where he spent the rest of his life farming on the Tavenier family dairy farm. He especially loved doing field work. Clement adored his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Priscilla of Ellenburg Center, NY; three sons, Keven Tavenier and his wife Tammy of Comstock, NY, David Tavenier and his fiancée Stasi of Ellenburg Center, and Adam Tavenier of Ellenburg Center; Fred Leftbridge of Ellenburg Center; eight grandchildren, James Tavenier, Deanna Vincent, Robert Tavenier, Tyler Hewson, Hunter Hewson, Steven Tavenier, Elizabeth Tavenier, and Karen Tavenier; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nephews; and his special feline friend, Weasel.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home with funeral services following at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The family wishes for everyone to dress casual and also extends an invitation to a reception at the Ellenburg Center Fire Department immediately following the services. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Ellenburg Center Fire Department.
