MOOERS FORKS – Colleen A. McDonald, 89, of McDonald Road, passed away just days before her 90th birthday, at her home on March 13, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 29, 1935, daughter of Wallace and Iris (Pinkerton) Pecor.

Colleen married Lawrence Donald McDonald on January 23, 1954 in St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora.  Lawrence predeceased her on September 13, 2011.

She dedicated her life to raising her family and caring for them everyday.  Colleen enjoyed doing crafts, shopping, and spending time in her garden.  However, nothing made her happier then spending time making memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her six children, Marlon (Wanda) McDonald of Mooers Forks, Allen (Joy) McDonald of Ellenburg Center, Dale (Dorthee) McDonald of Ellenburg Center, Tammy Lafave of Ellenburg Center, Lance (Pam) McDonald of Ellenburg Center, and Penny (Mark) Hemingway of Chateaugay;  sisters, Linda Rushford and Lorraine Heywood;  grandchildren, Brock, Allen Jr., Mike, Marlon Jr, Jenn, Karen, Julian, Brittany, Alan, Katie, Dale Jr, Allison and Elizabeth;  as well as 12 great-grandchildren.

Colleen was predeceased by her parents;  husband;  and siblings, Howard, Wally, David, and Georgia.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 17th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg.  A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will take place in the spring in Sheldon Hill Cemetery in Ellenburg Depot.
