CHATEAUGAY – Danny Michael Rock, 70, of Lake Street, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024 with his loving family by his side.

He was born on June 19, 1954, son of Floyd and Stella (Cotillion) Rock.

Danny entered the United States Army in 1971 and was honorably discharged in 1975.  He was also a proud member of the American Legion and the Masons.

In 1980, Danny married the former Jean Cook in Chateaugay.

Danny worked for the NYS Department of Corrections for many years, retiring from Barehill Correctional in Malone.

He loved to spend time hunting and fishing, however, being with his family was always the first priority.  Nothing brought him greater joy then the memories made with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife whom he married in 1980, Jean Rock;  his children, Nicole Spinner and her husband Benjamin, Michelle Jarvis and her husband Jeff, and Danny Watts;  brother, Marty Rock and his wife Linda;  sisters, Kathy Wright and her husband Ben, and Carol LaMare and her husband Todd;  sister-in-law, Linda Jullian;  grandchildren, Eric Cook, Ethan Cook, Lexi Jarvis, Daniel Strange, Samuel Strange, and Nathaniel Strange;  brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Linda Cook, Lloyd and Laura Cook, and Kelly and Trevor Dibble;  and many nieces and nephews.

Danny was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Donald Jullian and Herbie Rock; sister Janice Rennells and his loving canine companion, Laya.

A celebration of his life will be announced later next spring.
