ELLENBURG CENTER– David Hoff, 93, of Brandy Brook Road, passed away, June 16, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Ellenburg on July 13, 1926 son of Everett and Katherine (Martell) Hoff.

David was an Army Veteran who served his country from 1944-1945.  He grew up on the family farm in Ellenburg Center where his passion for farming grew and instilled a hard work ethic that he carried throughout his life and instilled in his family.

During his younger years, David spent several years working at the milk plant in Ellenburg Center and then later retired from the U.S. Customs in Champlain where he worked as an inspector.

David always liked to keep himself busy by gardening, building and repairing many different things, and tinkering with almost anything.  Most of all, David was committed to his family and cherished the time he spent with them.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy (Hebert) Hoff of Ellenburg Center;  children, David E. (Lisa) Hoff of Plattsburgh, Michael P. (Lori) Hoff of Johnston, RI, Jacqueline M. Hoff of Milton, VT, Noelle Hoff of Rochester, NY, and Daniel N. Hoff of Plattsburgh;  sister, Carrol Smith of Plattsburgh;  grandchildren, Meghan (Tim) Shaw and Matthew Canning;  great-grandchildren, Ethan and Gavin Shaw;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

David was predeceased by his first wife, Hazel (O'Donnell) Hoff;  daughter, Danielle Hoff;  and siblings, Carl Hoff, Paul Hoff, Enid Hoff, Eldon Hoff, and Raida Child.

The family will greet guests on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at his home, 38 Brandy Brook Road, Ellenburg Center.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Ellenburg Center.
