Obituary

ELLENBURG CENTER – David E. LaBombard, 77, of West Hill Road, passed away, February 17, 2026.

He was born on May 29, 1948, son of Herbert and Esther (LaBarre) LaBombard.

David was a third generation farmer on the LaBombard Farm in Ellenburg Center and then went to work as a corrections officer retiring from Franklin Correctional.

His biggest hobby was spending time hunting and he enjoyed truck pulling with his truck named after his daughter.  David was a true family man.  He deeply loved his grandchildren who always put the sparkle in his eyes, and he was very proud of his three boys.

David was a member of the Ellenburg Center Fire Department and the Adirondack Tractors Pulling Association.

Survivors include his three sons, Jonathan (Nicole) Myers, Chad LaBombard, and Troy LaBombard;  brothers, Dale (Darlene) LaBombard, his twin brother, Dennis (Phyllis) LaBombard, and Johnny (Pam) LaBombard;  grandchildren, Carson Myers, Emalynn Myers, Beau LaBombard, and Melanie LaBombard;  and several nieces and nephews.  David also leaves behind Barb Winter who was the mother of his children and the Silver Family who he always considered his second family.

David was predeceased by his parents;  brothers, Wayne LaBombard and Morris LaBombard;  and his beloved daughter Hilary Rae and her mother Sandy Finlayson LaBombard.

The family wishes to thank the SAR Unit at Alice Hyde Medial Center for the wonderful care he received, as well as the doctors and nurses at the University of Vermont Medical Center.  They were also very grateful to the staff of Hospice who made sure he had the most comfortable care in his final days.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 20th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg.

Burial will take place in the spring in the parish cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Ellenburg Center Fire Department.
