ELLENBURG CENTER---Dolan Finlayson, 75, of LaFrancis Road, passed away, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Ellenburg Center on September 30, 1941, the son of Arleigh and Mary Joan (Finnell) Finlayson.
Dolan married the former Geneva McLain in Ellenburg Depot on April 12, 1975. He spent his life farming and logging in the North Country. Dolan loved being outdoors, going hunting and especially taking care of his Belgian Horses. Above all else, was his love for family and friends. He cherished every moment spent with them.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Geneva Finlayson of Ellenburg Center; his daughter, Staci McDonald and her husband Randy of Altona; four step-children, Richard Morrison of Plattsburgh, Randy Morrison of Plattsburgh, Brian Morrison of Minnesoda, and Nicole Rowe of Mooers Forks; nine siblings, Shannon Gibson, John "Jack" (Nathalie) Finlayson, Sandy LaBombard, Susan (Leon) Rabideau, Arlene (Alan) Thibeau, Molly (Gary) Begor, Kevin (Cathy) Finlayson, Sheila Lashway, and Heather (Mark) Brassard; one half-brother, Arleigh Lynn Finlayson; two grandchildren, Kelsey and Tanner McDonald; one great-granddaughter, Mally Lashway; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dolan was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Bryant Finlayson.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
