He was born on November 27, 1945, the son of Wesley and Jeannette (Boisselle) Barnaby. After graduating from Altona school, Don entered the U.S. Army where he served his country being honorably discharged in 1969.
He went on to marry the love of his life, Linda (Miller) on November 28, 1970 in Ellenburg.
Don was a correction officer and worked 35 years with the New York Department of Corrections in Dannemora and Chateaugay. He was proud to serve his community as a firefighter, for 40 years, with the Ellenburg Depot Volunteer Fire Department.
He loved being out in nature, hunting, fishing, and gardening, and also loved to spend time reading. With his wealth of knowledge, Don completed many crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Don was also a fan of sports and enjoyed watching NASCAR, hockey and football.
