ELLENBURG DEPOT---
Eugene Coryea, 64, of Station Hill Road, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was born on May 23, 1952 in Tupper Lake, NY, the son of Maurice and June (Bulriss) Coryea.
Eugene graduated from Fort Dix in New Jersey in 1970 and served in the United States Army.
He was a hard worker who enjoyed farming, working on engines as a mechanic, and carpentry work. Eugene also enjoyed crocheting and making hats, booties and blankets that he loved sharing with his family and children.
Eugene was a kindhearted and honest man who will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Bertha (Emerson) Coryea of Ellenburg Depot; two children, Walker Rhodes and his wife Kristen of Buffalo, NY and Jessica Houghtaling and her husband Carl of Ellenburg Depot; his mother, June Coryea; one brother, Clifford Coryea and his wife Sepha of Ellenburg Depot; one sister, Anna Coryea of Delmar, NY; six grandchildren, Ashley, Brayden, Tyler, Emma, Seth, and Gavin; and 14 nieces and nephews.
Eugene was predeceased by his father; one granddaughter, Emma Grace; and one son-in-law, Carl Houghtaling.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg.
