Gerald J. Peets' Obituary
ELLENBURG CENTER, NY---Gerald Peets, 87, of Glenns Way, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the UVHN at the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born on October 20, 1927 in Ellenburg, NY the son of Floyd and Della (Dupree) Peets.
Gerald was a farmer all of his life and ran the Peets Brothers Farm in Ellenburg along side his brother, Lester. He was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 4441 in Ellenburg and a 4th Degree Knight with Assembly 711 in Malone. Gerald served as past Grand Knight and was currently serving as Deputy Grand Knight. He was also currently serving as Town Councilman for the Town of Ellenburg.
Gerald enjoyed visiting with everyone he encountered. He spent a lot of his time at the Adult Center and loved taking trips to the casino.
Survivors include three siblings, Lester Peets and his wife Bernie of Ellenburg Center, Leonard Peets and his wife Sue of Lakeland, FL, and Shirley Kelly and her husband Paul of Malone, NY; several nieces and nephews; and a special caring friend, Bruce Guay.
Gerald was predeceased by his parents and his step-mother, Regina Peets.
There will be no public calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. Members of the Knights of Columbus are asked to meet at the church for 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Ellenburg Depot Fire Department.
Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced with the Rabideau Funeral Home, 5614 Route 11, Ellenburg, NY.
