Obituary

MALONE – Gerard "Jerry" Wilder, 79, of County Route 25, passed away, September 17, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry was born in Rutland, VT on November 5, 1945, son of Charles and Gwendolyn (Wheeler) Wilder, Jr.

He enlisted in the United State Navy in 1964 and was honorably discharged in 1968.

Jerry began working as a truck driver for Schwan's and eventually managed the company, retiring after 32 years of service.  He was a member of the American Legion for over 45 years, an American Veteran, and also served as a Grand Mason for the Free and Accepted Masons.

Jerry had a great love for his family and could often be found attending his grandchildren's sporting events, playing cards with them, or sharing ice cream and M&M's together.  He also loved to watch NASCAR events as well as football games.  Overall, Jerry was a caring and loving husband, father, papa, and friend who had a great sense of humor and would do anything for you.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife whom he married on March 27, 1999, Judy (Monette) Wilder;  his children, Donna Lange, Christopher Wilder, Tracy (Christine) Paige, Joe (Tara) Danussi, Jennifer (Ian) Spellman, and Stacey Danussi and companion Matthew Garrand;  brothers, Frank (Janice) Wilder and Chuck Wilder;  grandchildren, Robert Banhart, David Dubois, Kellyann Wilder, Nicholas Wilder, Joseph Wilder, Stephanie Wilder, Christopher Paige, Natalie Danussi, Emily Nieves-Figueroa, Brookie Danussi, Carlie Danussi, Aubrianna Spellman, Demi Garrand, and Cali Garrand;  great-grandchildren, Lyla Rose Banhart, Abigail "A Bee" Banhart, Zane Banhart, and Roman Banhart;  great-great-grandson, Vincent Anthony Banhart;  and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was predeceased by his grandson, Anthony Banhart.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21st from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Donations in his memory may be made to a Veteran's charity of choice.
