ELLENBURG – Our loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather,Harold Isadore Prevo, passed away Monday, March 30th 2020,at UVMHN-CVPH, surrounded by his children. He was able to live a full and rewarding life until his death, at 88 years of age.
Harold was born April 27th, 1931 in Ellenburg Center, NY. He was the eldest son of the late Edward and Lillian Prevo. One of ten children, Harold grew up a farmer, attended a one room school house, worked in the mines in Mineville, worked on the Eisenhower Lock and Long Sioux Dam as part of the St Lawrence Seaway projects, and finally at NAC school driving bus and later as transportation supervisor, where he worked for 40 years. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, especially with his family and friends. Meacham Lake was one of his favorite places, even though it always rains. Nearly every vacation he ever took was with his family - a testament to the strong family bond, continuing memories, and lasting legacy that his children hold close to their hearts.
On May 16th, 1953 Harold married the former Theresa Morgan. She predeceased him in May 2013.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Brian Garrand of Mooers, Linda and Larry Trombley of Ellenburg Center, and a son and daughter-in-law William and Kari Prevo of Peru. He is also survived by grandchildren Allan and Carrie Trombley and their children Alex and Ryleigh, Derek Trombley and his daughter Kendra, grandson, Ryan Deyo and companion Cynthia and their son Aldean, and grandchildren Emily and Tanner Prevo. Harold is also survived by brothers Clarence (Carolyn) Prevo, Kenneth (Linda) Prevo, Leonard (Tom Borrse)Prevo, Robert (Jane) Provost, and sister Lorraine (Scot) Broderick. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Harold as predeceased by his parents, brothers Billy, Howard, and Larry Prevo, sister Shirley Prevo, brothers-in-law Norman and Bernard Morgan, sisters-in-law Shirley (Harold) Begore, Betty (Conrad)Boisvert, Marcella (Harold) Dibble, and Isabelle Jarvis-Secore.
Services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Harold's memory may be made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The family would like to thank the staff at CVPH for their compassionate care during our loss.
