Obituary

ELLENBURG DEPOT, NY ---Homer B. Seguin, 85, of the Plank Road, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Altona, NY on September 2, 1928, the son of Joseph and Minnie (Facteau) Seguin.

Homer married the former Katherine "Teen" Morrow on March 26, 1951 at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. He worked for many years as a carpenter for Scott Construction in Plattsburgh, and also enjoyed doing carpentry work around his home. Homer was an avid hunter and loved making maple syrup. He was a member of the Mountain Springs Hunting Club, a former Volunteer Fireman for the Ellenburg Depot Fire Department, a 4 th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, and a U.S. Army Veteran, serving our country during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Katherine "Teen" Seguin of Ellenburg Depot; one son, Stewart Seguin of Ellenburg Depot; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Eli Lambert of Ellenburg Depot, and Christine and Dennis Hendrickson of High Springs, FL; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Seguin of Rouses Point, NY; one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Susan Seguin of Homosassa, FL; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Earl Morrow of Altona, NY; ten grandchildren, Kim Buskey, Jason Seguin, Eddie Louis, Mike Louis, Bobby Louis, Bill Louis, Jessica Anctil, Matthew Lambert, Tricia Kurzawski, and Joshua Hendrickson; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including his special niece and her husband, Cathy and Dave Hanson of High Springs, FL.

Homer was predeceased by one son, Donald Seguin; one grandson, Jasen Hendrickson; five brothers, Herbie, Lester, Peter, Elmer, and Fred Seguin; and two sisters, Luva Lagoy and Rita Parrott.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg. 4 th Degree Knights will stand honor and 3 rd Degree Knights are requested to meet at 6:30 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. Burial will take place in the spring in the parish cemetery.
