Obituary

ELLENBURG CENTER - Jack E. Finlayson, 76,  of Ellenburg Center died Saturday July 3, 2021.

He was born in Ellenburg Center April 26, 1945 son of Arleigh and Joan Finlayson.
He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, trapping and fishing and a master carpenter working many years for Murnane Builders and JFP Construction. He greatly enjoyed birds, gardening and many pets, especially his beloved dogs Bear and Layla and his donkey Blackjack. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend sharing his wisdom and stories to all who would listen. His passing has left a void not only in our lives but in our hearts forever.
He was predeceased by parents Arleigh and Joan, brother Dolan, brother in law Kelley Gibson and niece Hilary LaBombard.
Jack is survived by his wife Nathalie (Thibeau), three sons: Neal and Karen, Cory, Christopher and Jodie and one daughter: Katherine and Jamie Stuart, one brother: Kevin and Cathy, a sister in law: Jennie, seven sisters: Shannon Gibson, Sandy Labombard, Susan and Leon Rabideau, Arlene and Alan Thibeau, Molly and Gary Begor, Sheila Lashway, Heather and Mark Brassard, four grandsons: Joshua and Ariel, Jared and Hilary, Connor, Arleigh and three great grandchildren: Scarlett, Jack and Atlys and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Thursday July 8th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at the Rabideau Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in St. Edmund's Cemetery, Ellenburg.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Elmore SPCA in Peru, NY or Ellenburg Center Fire Dept. All family and friends are invited to join us at the Ellenburg Center Fire Dept. following services.
