MOOERS – Joseph Perreault, 66, of North Star Road, passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2022.
He was born in Malone, NY on December 26, 1955, the son of Dellor and Violet (Derosia) Perreault.
Joe married the former Debbie Loboda on April 5, 1975 in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Churubusco.
He worked for many years as a diesel mechanic at many places in the North Country and was most recently working as a truck driver for Hogan Excavation.
Joe was currently a volunteer fireman for the Mooers Fire Department and had also served with the Churubusco Fire Department as well as being a past Chief for the Champlain Fire Department providing 48 years of dedicated service to the North Country.
He enjoyed spending time hunting and especially truck pulling for over 25 years with his best friend Todd Jarvis. As the owners/drivers of "Mad Dog" they both attended countless events winning many awards.
Joe was a kind and wonderful man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Perreault; son, Matthew (Jenny) Perreault; brother, Mike (Brenda) Perreault; sisters, Sandra (Jerry) Lamb, Pauline Powers (Jay Desotelle), Janet (Ernie) Rennie, Patty (Curt) Provost, and Viola Harriman; mother-in-law, Monica Shirley Loboda; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joe Decker, Randy (Jackie Brady) Loboda, Chris (Renee) Loboda, and Brenda (Karl) Esengard; grandchildren, Rebecca Perreault (Dan), Autumn Flaten (Kyle), Bea Emotin, Abe Emotin, and Althea Perreault; great-grandson, Zachary Emotin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, a son; Chad Perreault in 2007, sisters; Lorraine Decker, Nona Lee Perreault, and father-in-law Walter Loboda.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16 th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg. A brief service will follow at 5:00 p.m. A reception will be held at the Mooers Volunteer Fire Department following the service.
Donations in his memory may be made to a local cancer organization of choice or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
