PLATTSBURGH – Katherine J. Shelton, 53, passed away unexpectedly, March 4, 2020 at her residence.

She was born in Holyoke, MA on April 22, 1966, daughter of Terry and Julia (Barnett) Senecal.

Katherine was a kindhearted, free spirited, and beautiful woman.  She loved her family very much and also had a great love for animals.

Katherine worked as a nurse at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home, and later helped others as a home health aide for various individuals.

She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Survivors include her daughter, Shandi Whalen of Ellenburg Center;  son, James Shelton of Ellenburg Center;  her mother, Julie Dawson of Citrus Springs, FL; grandchildren, Abby, Izzy, and Robert Whalen;  and several aunts and uncles.

Katherine was predeceased by her companion, Mark Bryant;  her father, Terry Senecal;  her brother, David Senecal;  and her maternal grandparents, Alfred and Cecil Barnett.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg.
