Obituary

LYON MOUNTAIN – Kathleen Scott, 91, passed away, November 5, 2025.

She was born in Lyon Mountain on June 22, 1934, daughter of Randolph and Lena (Facteau) Wilson.

Kathleen graduated from Lyon Mountain High School in 1952 and went on to attend Mercy Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated in 1955.

On August 18, 1956, she married the love of her life George Scott.  He passed away on April 2, 2000.

Kathleen spent her life taking care of others.  She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years until her retirement from Alice Hyde Hospital in Malone.

She was very involved in her community of Lyon Mountain and was a member of the Lyon Mountain American Legion Auxiliary, the Lyon Mountain Fire Department Auxiliary, the Friends of Lyon Mountain Mining Museum, and the Lyon Mountain Senior Housing.

Kathleen loved the times spent with her family, especially attending bingo with her sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jon Scott (Sarah Hanlon), Mark Scott, and Gregg (Claire) Scott;  daughters, Anne (Mike) Latulippe, and Shelby (Peter) Siskavich;  sister, Carol Buska;  brother-in-law, Earl Couture;  grandchildren, Sara (Josue) Cardenas, Jeni Scott, Ian Gourlay, Kristine Douillette, Mark (Jessica) Scott, Crystal Scott, Ryan Scott, Jake Latulippe, Joel (Samantha) Latulippe, and Kate Siskavich;  5 great-grandchildren;  and many nieces and nephews who were very special to her.

Kathleen was predeceased by her parents;  husband, George;  brothers, Keith Wilson and Rusty Wilson;  sisters, Gail Wilson, Jeanette Couture, and Phyllis Coleman;  daughter-in-law, Ann Scott;  her godson, Andrew Wilson;  nephew, Steven Wilson;  brother-in-law, Frank Buska, Sr.;  and sister-in-law, Theresa Wilson.

The family also wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the caregivers at the Vilas Home and Meadowbrook, who provided Kathleen with such great care.

A memorial mass will be planned for and announced in the spring with burial in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Lyon Mountain.

Donations in her memory may be made to St. Bernard's Church, Friends of Lyon Mountain Mining Museum, or Post 1623 Sorrell Woodward American Legion in Lyon Mountain.
