MALONE – Leona Pepin, of Route 11, passed away peacefully, on October 21, 2026.

She was born on June 25, 1949, daughter of Leon and Nina (Owens) Bulriss.

Leona began her career as a realtor in Las Vegas, NV. She and her husband then moved to Albany, NY where she continued to practice as a realtor. Eventually they moved to Malone to care for her elderly mother.

While in Malone, Leona worked for years at the Alice Center as a nursing aide.

Leona was a talented and avid quilter, and nothing brought her greater joy than making special quilts for all of her family.

She was also a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, Russell Kraft, IV and his wife Katrina; daughter, Tammy Plumley; brother, Leon Bulriss and his wife Marilyn; grandchild, Robert Patrick Harris Kraft; nephews, Scott Bulriss and Brian Bulriss; as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

Leona was predeceased by her parents and husband, Richard Pepin.

At Leona’s request, there will be no public services.
