MORRISONVILLE – Leonard R. Drown, 77, of Hawk Haven Drive, passed away May 28, 2026 surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home.
He was born on December 29, 1948, son of Charles Leonard and Eva Mae (Nephew) Drown.
Leonard married the former Sheila Barcomb in 1969 at the Mooers Wesleyan Church. Together they shared over 57 years together.
Leonard devoted his life to his family and his faith. He worked for numerous years on the dairy farm, and was not only a tireless worker but also a pillar of his faith, participating actively in the Mooers Wesleyan Church and always seeking to live a life guided by his faith and beliefs.
Leonard also served his community by serving on the Town of Mooers Board for 20 years, the Mooers Fire Department for 25 years, and the Mooers Camp Meeting Association.
His heart for service extended beyond his household, as he consistently offered his time, skills, and kindness to improve the lives of those around him. Whether volunteering for local initiatives, or supporting neighbors in need, he exemplified the very best of community spirit.
Leonard will forever be remembered for his big heart, kindness, and especially his quick wit!
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sheila Drown; son, Tyson and Valarie (Morgan) Drown; daughter, Trista (Kevin) Gonyo; brother, Stephen (Jessie) Drown; grandchildren, Emma (Anthony Cartee) Drown, Nicholas (Tiah) Drown, Cale Drown, Makayla (Josh Gieg) Fancy, Mallory Fancy, Adrienne Gonyo, Lauren (James Wholey) Gonyo; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Leonard was predeceased by his parents and sister, Judy Sanchagrin.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 4th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Mooers Wesleyan Church. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Mooers Wesleyan Church and the Mooers Camp Meeting Association.
