ELLENBURG CENTER – Lester Peets, 93, passed away on June 24, 2024 at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Ellenburg on November 1, 1930, son of Floyd and Della (Dupree) Peets.

Lester married the former Bernadette Tourville on June 21, 1952 at St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg.  They shared 68 wonderful years together until her passing on March 9, 2021.

He spent many years of his life farming the land at the Peet's Brothers Family Farm in Ellenburg Center, and was a member of St. Edmund's Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Lester loved the outdoors in the summer and enjoyed working on dot to dot books and doing word searches.  He also loved to go for long rides and sharing memories with his family.

Survivors include his son, Roger (Carol) Peets of Ellenburg Center;  daughter, Sheila (Floyd) Walker of Churubusco;  sister, Shirley Kelly of Westville, NY;  grandchildren, Chris (Christine) Peets, Hilary (Chad) Keating, Tara (Anthony) Schiraldi, Corey Morrison, Brennan (Jessica) Wilcox, and Tyler (Andrea) Wilcox;  and 8 great-grandchildren.

Lester was predeceased by his parents;  his wife, Bernadette;  and two brothers, Gerald Peets and Leonard Peets.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg.

Burial will take place at a later date in St. Edmund's Cemetery.
