Obituary

CHURUBUSCO, NY ---Louis J. "Buddy" Dupree, Jr., 76, of Route 11, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 13, 2015 at the UVHN, CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was born in Chateaugay, NY on September 3, 1938, the son of Louis J. and Corinne (Burgoyne) Dupree, Sr.
Buddy attended Chateaugay High School and later began working as a mechanic at the St. Lawrence Seaway for 6 years. He then went to work at the McCadam Cheese Factory in Chateaugay where he worked in the maintenance department for 30 years.
In 1989, Buddy went to work for the Franklin County Agricultural Society where he also worked in the Maintenance Department for the Fair Grounds until 2012. He married the former Manya M. Manor on September 16, 1994 at their home in Churubusco.
Buddy loved to go camping and enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to Florida with his motorhome. He was an avid woodworker and spent much of his time making almost anything out of wood.
Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Manya Dupree of Churubusco; four sons, Louis J. Dupree, III of Malone, Douglas LaClair of Churubusco, Scott LaClair and his wife, Eleanor of Constable, and Peter LaClair and his companion Kim of Ellenburg Depot; six daughters, Tina Sutton and her husband David of Chateaugay, Shannon Phair and her husband Raymond of Mooers, Heidi Recore of Malone, Kim Vermette and her husband Chester of Constable, Crystal Dupree and her companion Frank of Chateaugay, and Sandra Farkas and her husband Eric of Burke; three sisters, Marcia Ashline of Mooers, Nancy Ashline and her companion Paul English of Chateaugay, and Debbie Davis and her husband Randy of Florida; two brothers-in-law, George Douglas and Dick Gardner; twenty grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Buddy was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Beverly Gardner and Rose Douglas; and one grandchild, Desiree.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home, 5614 Route 11, Ellenburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. Entombment will follow in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Ellenburg Depot, NY.
