PLATTSBURGH – Mae LaBombard, 79, residing at an Assisted Living Home on Salmon River Road, passed away, Monday, April 11, 2022 at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY.  She was born in Ellenburg, NY on March 21, 1943, the daughter of Anian and Glorvina (Nichols) LaBombard.  Mae was injured at an early age and worked and resided at the family farm for most of her life in addition to providing health care for her brother, Leo, who became a quadriplegic as a result of a farm accident.  After a series of strokes, Mae moved into residences at Advocacy and Resource Center assisted living homes in several locations where she was loved and well taken care of by all who knew her.  Mae was content in her homes and was described as a spitfire by those who were associated with her. She often recollected about her life on the farm along with her family and loved her stuffed animals and babies.

Mae is survived by one sister, Marguerite Colgan of Ellenburg and two sisters-in-law, Thelma LaBombard of Greensboro, NC and Audrey LaBombard of Churubusco.

Mae was predeceased by her parents, four brothers, Austin, Richard, Leroy and Leo LaBombard, two sisters, Marion Trombley and Lucille LaClair, brothers-in-law, Robert Colgan, Donald LaClair and Horace Trombley, one sister-in-law, Cecelia LaBombard and nephews Father Richard Colgan, Allen LaBombard, Joseph LaBombard and Howard LaBombard.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeal Home in Ellenburg, followed by a service at noon in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will take place in the family plot at St. Edmund's Cemetery on May 23 ^rd at 10:00 A.M.
