ELLENBURG, NY – Margaret "Peggy" LaBarge, 93, formerly of Glenns Way, passed away, December 25, 2020.

She was born May 8, 1927 in Northfield, VT, the daughter of Leon and Catherine (Lashua) Nadeau.

Peggy married the Ken LaBarge on July 7, 1949 in Dover Plains, NY. Prior to Ken's passing on July 27, 2020, they celebrated their 71 ^st wedding anniversary together at Meadowbrook Nursing Home.

She worked as an LPN at the Harlem Valley State Hospital in Wingdale and then later at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh.  During this time, Peggy also worked for the Drown Ambulance Service assisting in ambulance transfers and going on local calls.  She owned and operated LaBarge's Home Gas in Ellenburg, and also owned the Travelers Motel in Ellenburg, which she and Ken operated from 1955-1975.

Peggy was always involved with her community and family, and enjoyed spending time bowling.

Survivors include sons, Francis (Susan) LaBarge, Gary (Debbie) LaBarge, and Timothy (Susan Bushey) LaBarge; grandchildren, Michael LaBarge, Lee (Claudine) LaBarge, Ryan LaBarge, and Jason Arnesen;  great-grandchildren, Claire Marie LaBarge and Caitlin LaBarge;  and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy was predeceased by her husband Ken;  brothers, Richard Nadeau and Joseph Nadeau;  and sister, Harriett Sweet.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Meadowbrook Nursing Home for the wonderful care that Peggy received.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will take place in St. Edmund's Cemetery in Ellenburg in the spring.
