ELLENBURG DEPOT--- Marjorie "Marge" E. Wiley, 90, of Green Valley Road, Ellenburg Depot, passed away on July 17, 2012 at the Vermont Respite Home in Williston, VT.
She was born in Ellenburg Center, NY on March 18, 1922 the daughter of Elvin and Pearl (Forkey) Honsinger .
Marge attended Ellenburg High School and then later graduated from the Our Lady of Victory Secretarial School in Plattsburgh.
She married Smith Wiley on July 1, 1944 in Ellenburg, NY. He passed away in 1999.
Marge retired from the Ellenburg branch of Key Bank after 25 years as an administrative assistant.
She had a great love for her family. Her doors were always open to not only family, but also neighbors and those who worked on the family farm. She looked forward to going to the Ellenburg Inn mornings for breakfast, and especially for conversation with friends and neighbors. Marge was a member of the United Methodist Women and The Grange.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Tina Wiley of Plattsburgh and their children, Kerry, Kiel, and Kris; three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Francis Lafountain of Mooers Forks and their children, Brad, Erica, Elyse and Emily, Ken and Joan Bushey of Champlain, NY and their children, Kevin, Tony, John, and Amy, and Judy and Roger Crouse of Essex Junction, VT and their children, Alison and Erin; one sister, Orpha Stone of Amherst, NY; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family would also like to acknowledge Betty Goodrow and Gloria Lashway for the excellent care they provided to Marge.
She was predeceased by five brothers, Kermit, Bob, Finney, Peter, and Rufus Honsinger, and one sister, Olive Cheeseman.
There will be no public calling hours at Marge's request.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg. A reception will be held immediately following the services at the Ellenburg Center Fire Department.
