MOOERS FORKS – Melvin R. Lashway, 70, of Gero Road, passed away, January 26, 2023.

He was born in Plattsburgh on January 9, 1953, son of Donald and Mildred (LaFountain) Lashway.

Melvin operated a skidder for various companies and spent many years logging in the woods.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Michelle King;  sons, Michael Lashway and companion Katherine Lyons and Jason LaFountain;  daughters, Heidi Lashway and Bryce Davison, Betsy Lashway and companion Colin Morrow, and Brittany Lashway;  siblings, Cathy and Kevin Finlayson, Debby and Jimmy Bushey, Betty and Ronald Brunet, Darlene and Dale Brunet, Sharron and Gary McDonald, Allyson and Ronnie Manor, Tom and Jackie Lashway, Brenda and Jimmy Dean LaBombard, and Crissy and Brad McDonald;  grandchildren, Dane LaFountain, Meg Atkinson, Jack Earl, Katie Ryan, Kellynn Ryan, Finlay Lashway;  sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Heidi King, Amy King, and Stuart and Sherry King;  mother-in-law, Sandra King;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

Melvin was predeceased by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg.

A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  A reception will follow at the Ellenburg Center Fire Station.
