LYON MOUNTAIN, NY – Norman Charland, 64, of Standish Road, passed away, June 18, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 20, 1959, son of Leon and Betty (Pulsifer) Charland.
Norman worked for the Town of Dannemora as a motor equipment operator for many years.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to go hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling. Norman loved to share stories and visit, and was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife whom he married on August 16, 1986, Tina Charland; mother, Betty Charland; sister, Norma-Lou Charland (Mike); mother-in-law, Pauline Graves; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ralph (Sharron) Graves, Jr., Nancy Myatt (Darrell), and Julie (Dennis) Castine; nieces and nephews, Lori Graves (Ryan Dumont), Lisa Graves, Lynn Graves, Shannon (Pat) Ryan, Jason (Kaleigh) Myatt, Crystal Graves (Josh Bombardier), Sheena Graves, Kyle Graves, Wayne (Tristen) Graves, Jr., Evan Graves, Joshua (Karleen) Castine, Mandy Castine, Tyler (Morgan) Hicks, Kyle (Brianna) Rock, Anita Reitano, and Emma Reitano; great-nieces and great-nephews, Alexis Lapoint, Jamie Lapoint, Tarra Lapoint, Jackson Lapoint, Timothy Willette, Dallas Dezan, Jameson Dezan, Mara Ryan, Jack Myatt, Karson Myatt, Mckayla Belair, Aliveya Guay, Abagail Guay, Avery Guay, Abel Graves, Gracelyn Castine, Gabriel Castine, Eleanor Castine, Tucker Campbell, and Adalynn Campbell; and his fur baby, Angel.
Norman was predeceased by his father, Leon; two brothers, Nelson Charland and Albert Charland; father-in-law, Ralph Graves; brothers-in-law, Mark Graves and Wayne Graves; and sister-in-law, Jane Graves.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the numerous friends and family who have prayed for their family and assisted Norman for the past several years including, Jack and Marylou Shusda, John and Stephanie Shusda, Ali Greene, Mary Krakowski, Donna Carman, Sheryl Alexander, Ken Lushia, Mike Lamere, Eileen Durant, and Sandy Belair. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held at St. Bernard's Church in Lyon Mountain on Monday, June 24th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11:00.
