ELLENBURG DEPOT – Orville LaValley, 87, of Green Valley Road, passed away, October 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Ellenburg on September 30, 1937, son of Arthur and Mary (LaFountain) LaValley. Orville spent his younger years alongside his father acquiring the skills needed to become a successful dairy farmer. He applied what he had learned and became not only a prosperous but also a highly admired member of the farming community in addition to being a member of the Future Farmers of America and the Chateaugay Dairy Co-Op.
In his retirement years, Orville could always be seen testing his luck at bingo or the casino as well as scratching lottery tickets. Orville and Connie were always supporting the local community dinners together.
Orville was a kind-hearted man and also the love of Connie's life. He most enjoyed his time spent with his family. He was always willing to lend a hand to neighbors and friends alike. No matter the day, you could always count on Orville to give you that big genuine smile and with a twinkle from those baby blue eyes each time he saw you.
Survivors include his loving wife, Connie (Deso) LaValley, whom he married on July 15, 1985; children, Donna (Susan) LaValley, Daniel (Karrie) Dessureault, Denise (Charles) Durkin; brother, Gary (Debbie) LaValley; grandchildren, Trisha (Jayson) Blondo, Trevor LaValley, Ashlee (Robert III) Marks, Kaylia (Christopher) Ruth, Mathieu Durkin, Alyvia Dessureault, Isiah Dessureault, Hannah Dessureault and Dane Dessureault; and seven great-grandchildren. He also had a special place in his heart for Daniel Watts, who was much like a son to him. Orville was predeceased by his parents; brother, Arthur LaValley and many blessed pets.
