ELLENBURG DEPOT, NY – Richard H. Moore, 91, of Clinton Mills Road, passed away peacefully, April 27, 2022.
He was born in Ellenburg Depot on February 4, 1931, the son of Arthur and Ethel (Blair) Moore.
Richard owned and operated Moorestien Farms in Ellenburg Depot for numerous years.
He was a member of the Holstein Association and a lifelong member of the Mason's. Richard also served as Director of the Chateaugay Co-op for many years as well as former Fire Commissioner in Ellenburg Depot.
He was an avid bowler with the Bowling Association and was proud of being honored for 60 consecutive years of bowling. Richard enjoyed nothing more than being with his family and sharing special moments. Whether attending his grandchildren's sporting events or sharing stories around the table, he was most happy when being with his family.
Richard was a true gentleman who would help anyone with anything without expecting anything in return.
Survivors include his children, Richard (Amy Murphy) Moore, Jodi Moore, Chrystal King, Penny Herbest, Donna (Eugene Drown) Moore, Robin (Thomas) Lefebvre and Shawn (Brittney) Kemp; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Richard was predeceased by loving wife Pauline Pearl Moore who he married August 31, 1974; brothers, Maurice Moore, Hollis Moore and William Joe Moore; sisters, Dawne Moore, Hazel Veivia and Elsie Oliver, and companion, Rose Cook.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 2 nd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Ellenburg Depot Wesleyan Church.
Entombment will take place in the Town of Ellenburg Mausoleum.
Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country, Ellenburg Depot Fire Department, or the Ellenburg Depot Wesleyan Church.
