ELLENBURG CENTER---
Robert H. Cashman, 89, formerly of Ellenburg Center, passed away October 17, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Ellenburg Center on August 17, 1929, the son of Herbert and Hazel (Hines) Cashman. Robert served in the United States Air Force from 1946 to 1949, and later married the former Lorraine Guerin on January 13, 1951 at the Nazarene Church in Altona. He owned and operated a dairy farm on the Star Road in Ellenburg Center for several years. Robert was very community minded and enjoyed serving coffee on the weekends with Ellenburg Re-act.
He was a member of the Ellenburg Grange, the Northeastern New York Maple Producers, and a longtime committee member of the Dairy Lee Co-op and Agway.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Lorraine Cashman of Plattsburgh; one son, Jeffrey Cashman and his wife Ella Deyo-Cashman of Plattsburgh; one sister-in-law, Melba Cashman; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Robert was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Vernon Cashman and Eldon Cashman; and one sister, Carol Goss.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Ellenburg Center.
