MOOERS FORKS---
Shirley (Soden) Rabideau, 82, of Cannon Corners Road, passed away July 13, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Mooers Forks on December 19, 1935 the daughter of Robert J. and Lillian (Lamberton) Soden, Sr.
Shirley met the love of her life, Harold M. Rabideau, and they later married on February 2, 1957 at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks.
She was an Honorary Member of the Mooers Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and had also worked with the Board of Election for the Town of Mooers for many years.
Shirley enjoyed spending time going snowmobiling and gardening. She also enjoyed going to pick blueberries and blackberries, and most of all spending time with her family and friends sharing stories and making memories.
Shirley spent her life caring for her family and was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a proud wife of a dairy farmer.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Harold M. Rabideau of Mooers Forks; three children, Norma (Leo) Langevin of Chazy, Lynn (Marvin) DeCoste of Mooers, and Dale H. Rabideau of Mooers Forks; grandchildren, Amy (Cory) Provost, Armand Langevin & Emma Murawski, Chrysa Rabideau, and Marlyna Rabideau; two great-grandchildren, Bristol and Myla Provost; three siblings, Marilyn Rabideau, Nancy (Cliff) Dupee and Pat Rucker; brothers/sisters-in-law, David McCrea, Floyd LaValley, Robert Lamberton, Rhoda Rabideau, Marilyn and Gerald Gadway, Rufus Rabideau, Edith and Robert Suprenant, Marie Trombley, and Jane and Jim Forkey; and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents; siblings, Robert Soden, Jr., Marion McCrea, Joyce LaValley, Janet Lamberton, and infant sister Janette Fanny Soden; brothers-in-law, Morris Rabideau, Francis Rabideau, Charles Trombley, and Herman Rabideau, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Rita Rabideau.
At Shirley's request, all services will private and at the convenience of the family.
Entombment will take place in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Ellenburg Depot. Pallbearers will be granddaughters, Amy Provost, Chrysa Rabideau, Marlyna Rabideau; grandson, Armand Langevin; and son-in-laws Leo Langevin and Marvin DeCoste.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory may be made to the Mooers/Champlain EMS.
