Obituary

ELLENBURG – Theresa Minckler, 88, of Cashman Road, passed away June 13, 2026.

She was born on a very snowy day in Chazy Lake on the Venne Farm in a tiny house on the Plank Road. Theresa was the first of four children born on March 9, 1938 to her parents, Adrian and Margaret (Rabideau) Venne.

She attended Ledgers Corners School for grades first thru fourth and later graduated from Ellenburg High School in 1954. Theresa went on to attend the BOCES Nursing Program and graduated as an LPN in 1974.

She worked at the CVPH Medical Center for over 34 years until her retirement. During retirement, she continued her caring for others and worked for Hospice of the North Country for another 5 years.

During her spare time, Theresa enjoyed going bowling, pitching horseshoes, and playing softball. At one time she was the oldest woman in Clinton County who still played.

Theresa is survived by her sons, Andy Minckler and his wife Gale and David Minckler and his companion Louise; grandchildren, Henry, Jessica “Nori”, Rahne, and James; great-grandchild, Yuugo; sister, Phyllis Donivan; sisters-in-law, Dolly Venne, Pat Minckler, and Anne McCoy; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, H. Ronald Minckler who she married on June 19, 1955; sister, Shirley Gadway; brother, Derick Venne Sr.; and brothers-in-law, Dennis Gadway and Gary Donivan.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26th from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg, with a funeral service following in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will take place in the Town of Ellenburg Mausoleum.
