Obituary

ELLENBURG CENTER, NY --- Walter J. Trombley, 85, of West Hill Road, passed away August 31, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 13, 1936, son of Charles and Laura (Bushey) Trombley.

Walter married the former Anne Moore on April 7, 1956.  Anne predeceased him on May 14, 2021.  He and Anne worked alongside each other on the family farm for many years.  Walter had also worked at various other places including the St. Lawrence Seaway, the Plattsburgh Air Force Base, the Clinton County Government Center and Norther Adirondack Central School.

Walter was also very involved in his community, serving as a councilman for the Town of Ellenburg, a volunteer fire fighter in Ellenburg Center, past president of the Clinton Essex Holstein Club, and was also a 4 th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his children, Walter R. (Darlene) Trombley, Michael (Kim) Trombley, Laurie Bulriss Ano and Lisa (Tony) Nephew;  grandchildren, Jennifer (James) Vanvalkenburg, Michelle (Matthew) Lawrence, Haley (Matt) Arnold, Cody (Courtney) Trombley, Casey (Jess) Bulriss, Cordell Ano, Tyler Nephew (Karen LaBombard), Rebecca Nephew, and Matthew Nephew;  great-grandchildren, Zachary and Teegan Vanvalkenburg, Yazmine, Madilyn and Ethan Lawrence, Sophee and Ryker Trombley, Arianna and Tanner Nephew, and Brantley and Colton Bulriss;  and many step-grandchildren whom he was very fond of along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Walter was predeceased by his parents;  daughter-in-law, Patti Trombley;  sons-in-law, Glen Bulriss and Roy Ano;  grandson, Corey Bulriss;  father-in-law and mother-in-law, Floyd Moore and Frances Boyea;  siblings, Richard, Laverne and Marjorie;  brothers-in-law, Ken Powers, Bernard Whalen, and Roger Barcomb;  and sisters-in-law, Theolus Trombley and Martha Trombley.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 5 th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Edmund's Church.  Entombment will follow in the Town of Ellenburg Mausoleum.
